Show Shakedown

Have No Fear…the 2008 Global Pet Expo Simplified Prospectus is Here! There are few dates on a calendar that can cause wide-spread dread… April 15th comes to mind.  For kids, there's the first day of school. I've heard from some Global Pet Expo exhibitors that they feel that way the day they receive the Exhibitor Prospectus.  But have no fear; we have simplified the process this year, and starting with the 2008 show, you will not receive the Exhibitor Prospectus by FedEx.  Instead, in early May, you will receive a Global Pet Expo floor plan via the U.S. Postal Service…For the complete story, click here

PIJAC Perspectives

2006 Ends, 2007 Underway -Government Affairs Move On The 2005-06 legislative session came to a relatively quiet end. By years end, PIJAC had tracked slightly more than 2,000 proposed bills and regulations in 45 states covering a wide variety of activities involving companion animals.  642 proposals were considered "hot" or proposals that could adversely impact the supply or ownership of pets. PIJAC also responded to a number of international issues that directly impact the ability of our industry to trade in a number of species commonly sold in our pet stores...For the complete story, click here

Laws That Protect Our Ultimate Customer  APPMA's members manufacture and sell hundreds of products that are intended to make the lives of our "ultimate" consumer, the companion animal, more enjoyable.  Many products for pets are regulated, such as EPA's regulation of pesticides and FDA's regulation of pet food and medicines.  APPMA provides educational opportunities for members to learn about pet product regulations through our web site, the Advisor and through a Webcast series.
