Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the company’s operations run smoothly on a daily basis by keeping interruptions in production to a minimum through proper planning, personnel training/development, and process improvements. The Production Supervisor is the plant manager's eyes and ears at the company’s ground level and works closely with the plant manager to move his team towards corporate goals. Finally, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing the production workers with the tools and support they need to perform their job at their best.

Coach and lead a staff of 8, and growing. Includes: training, scheduling, disciplining, and time & attendance activities. Also includes hiring and firing. 

Manage and lead production and quality control systems.

Work closely with the Quality Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures in product quality and food safety. Also includes GMP, SQF, and HACCP program.

Repair mechanical issues and maintain Spare Parts and Preventative Maintenance program.

Review production efficiencies and evaluate improvements.

Ensure that production goals and deadlines are met.

Work closely with the Safety Manager to ensure the safety of all personnel.

Determine staffing needs and work with Human Resources to recruit top talent.

Establish and nurture relationships with key vendors.

Plan current and future projects.

Assist senior management with achieving overall corporate goals.

Assist with other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Reporting Relationships

The employee will report to the Plant Manager.

Job Qualifications


More than one year of experience in a leadership role.

More than one year of manufacturing experience.

Previous experience implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, and Transactional Lean to drive improvement is a plus.

Computer Skills

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.

Ability to use Excel to organize, extract, and analyze information.

Language Skills

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Strong ability to communicate ideas and information effectively.

Strong ability to understand the comments, opinions, and concerns of others.


Great professional demeanor. 

Moderate mechanical and electrical skills.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and solve complex problems in a dynamically changing environment.
