National Sales Manager

The National Sales Manager will contribute to our sales strategy by bringing in new business and growing existing accounts. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for maximizing the profitability of accounts by curating client relationships and creating up sale opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact new leads including cold calling to generate new business
  • Follow up and service current accounts on reorders and product sell through
  • Develop relationships with management and personnel to expand distribution
  • Strengthen customer relationships by building interpersonal rapport and maintaining consistent contact
  • Be the face of the brand through tradeshows and special events
  • Analyze competition and develop new strategies to help educate and increase product exposure
  • Oversee and coordinate the sales team activities
  • Establish sales quotas and goals for the sales team
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Lead nationwide sales team members to achieve sales targets
  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers
  • Liaise with Marketing department to ensure brand consistency and develop opportunities
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales team members are on board

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Sales, Business Administration, or relevant field
  • 5+ years of Sales Management Experience (existing relationships with pet buyers and distributors a plus)
  • Proven track record of increasing sales market share through implementation of sales and marketing plan
  • E-Commerce sales experience
  • Ability to professionally communicate (verbal/written) to a wide range of audiences across multiple levels of an organization
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Must be self-motivated and organized
  • Ability to take directive, work independently and problem solve
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel as needed

Must have existing relationships with senior and mid-level pet buyers and category managers and also Distributors -and experience with top 5 pet specialty accounts and

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 4-5 years of Sales Experience in Pet Industry
  • Self-motivated, driven, highly organized
  • Ability to professionally communicate (verbal/written) to a wide range of audiences across multiple levels of an organization
  • Very detail oriented
  • Ability to take directive & work independently and problem solve
  • Must be able to travel (up to 50% of the time)
