APPA Supports Members with Free and Exclusive Access to New Business Bootcamp

- Three-day online program equips companies with better business practices and insight into the inner workings of the pet industry -

(Stamford, CT) – American Pet Products Association (APPA) CEO Steve King announced today that the inaugural APPA Business Bootcamp, a three-day online program set to take place November 10-12, 2020, will be free to APPA members with their 2021 membership. The series will be available exclusively to APPA members, and will cover three major areas including business basics, pet-industry specific business acumen and strategies for growth. 

“As our members continue to navigate the ‘new normal’ during these challenging times, we are continuously expanding our offerings and looking for new ways to best serve the APPA membership,” said King. “The Bootcamp is a valuable opportunity to equip companies with the business tools and insights they need now more than ever.” 

The three-day program includes a total of 15 sessions with more than three hours of presentations per day and daily live Q & A with industry experts. Day one begins with a state of the pet industry discussion led by APPA CEO Steve King and industry expert Dave Bolen, followed by sessions on business basics and preparing a roadmap for success. Day two kicks off with a panel discussion on pet ownership during the pandemic, and continues with content focused on key strategies for sales and marketing in the current marketplace. Day three covers e-commerce and selling channels, a beginners guide to intellectual property, and closes with a live networking event. 

“While the Bootcamp is designed as a comprehensive primer for manufacturers newly entering the pet industry, the expertise provided is equally valuable for seasoned companies,” King added. “And, by offering free access to this exclusive program with 2021 membership, we hope to further ensure the ability of our members to participate.” 

Additionally, the Bootcamp provides participants with access to free resources to take a deeper dive into pet business strategies -- a $1,000 value.  These include: a customized data report based on the APPA National Pet Owners Survey; a robust resource list of industry experts, retailers, distributors, rep groups and media contacts; plus a complimentary 1-hour post-event consultation with PetsPhD, the firm selected by APPA to co-develop the conference content.
