APPA Releases 2006 Benchmarking and State of the Industry Reports
-The American Pet Products Manufactures Association’s (APPA) Completes Pet Industry Analysis and New Findings Now Available-
GREENWICH, CONN., May 16, 2006– After analyzing key criteria pertinent to the pet industry, The American Pet Products Association (APPA) has produced a series of reports yielding new information and insights on the state of the industry, how manufactures, retailers and other market segments are performing, and where growth opportunities lie, as well as an online tool kit enabling member companies to rate themselves against the competition.
APPA’s Benchmarking Study and State of the Industry Reports include data gathered from 124 APPA member participants and examine 103 key attributes. The companies that participated in the survey have already received confidential reports detailing how they benchmarked against other participants. However, additional companies now have access to many of the study’s benefits.
“APPA has always taken pride in compiling the most comprehensive pet owner statistics available and now with these reports we have expanded that tradition of providing valuable information to aid individual companies that comprise the pet industry as well as the success of the industry as a whole,” said APPA President, Bob Vetere.
The following components of the survey are available for purchase
- Benchmarking Survey: The entire survey questionnaire may be downloaded for free online at www.americanpetproducts.org/benchmarksurvey. Interested companies may view all 103 attributes to see the full scope of data included.
- Plan for Growth White Paper: While preserving anonymity of the participants, this white paper reports an overview of much of the data collected during the Benchmarking Study. The table of contents is available at www.americanpetproducts.org/benchmarksurvey.
- State of the Industry Report: This is an industry overview based on The White Paper Report and secondary data collection such as U.S. Census statistics, National Pet Owners Survey Data and interviews with key industry leaders in both the manufacturing and retail segments of the pet industry. Interactive On-line Toolkit: Exclusively available to APPA members, this interactive on-line tool allows subscribers to select key criteria and compare their companies against APPA member companies who responded to the survey. Online demos are available at http://appma.mpi-group.net.
