Newest Pet Products, Statistics and Trends to Launch at Global Pet Expo

-The Largest Annual Pet Products Show in the World - Global Pet Expo will provide the first opportunity to see the latest pet products and trends the industry has to offer-

 

GREENWICH, CT., February 16, 2005 – From prescription lenses for dogs to dog crates built into pieces of fine furniture, the products being launched at Global Pet Expo are sure to have everyone “pawsing” to take a look.

Canine car seats, Pucci Couture dog fashions, fitness fuel for pets, DVDs for cats and birds, TushieWipes, glow-in-the-dark aquarium gravel, a cookbook for birds, teeth-whitening bones, a nail clipper that doesn’t cut the quick, a wearable ionizer for pets, and a free-flowing water fountain for big dogs are just some of the products that will be “marking their territory” at Global Pet Expo.

Also unleashed at Global Pet Expo will be the newest statistics from the most comprehensive surveys available. Attending media will see for the first time, the 2005-2006 APPA National Pet Owners Survey which retails for $895 and contains more than 300 pages of pet information including total numbers of pets owned in the U.S.

Other data released for the first time at Global Pet Expo includes results of a newly conducted survey on high-end luxury pet products and a benchmarking survey demonstrating the fastest growing sectors of the industry, the state of the industry, market trends, how the various players are adapting to a rapidly changing landscape, health care advancements and what's driving the growth in pet ownership. 2004 national pet spending figures as well as projected sales figures for 2005 will also be announced at a press conference onsite on Monday, March 14 at 10 a.m.

“There is no other place in the world where members of the media can see such a wide array of the hottest new pet products the industry has to offer,” said APPA Vice President and Deputy Managing Director Andy Darmohraj. “This will also be the first opportunity for members of the press to receive the most up-to-date, comprehensive industry information with the release of our new National Pet Owners Survey. Given the unprecedented growth of the pet industry over the past few years, this will definitely be the must-see event of the year for buyers and media alike.”    

This year marks the premiere of Global Pet Expo. The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) have joined forces to put together America’s largest ever pet products trade show. The largest annual show in the industry, Global Pet Expo will include more than 2,000 booths and 600 new product launches.
