GREENWICH, CONN., May 2, 2006– The American Pet Products Association (APPA) inaugural 2006 pet industry calendar won a regional silver ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation. The calendar, which features photos of pets doing humorous human activities, highlights all major pet industry events, and includes useful pet owner facts and figures, will now be entered into a national advertising competition.

The APPA 2006 pet industry calendar received the award based on a combination of elements including photography (by Jeff Ross photography), design (by MassMedia), intent and creativity. All national award winning pieces will be shown at a national conference in San Francisco, California in January 2007.

“We are extremely pleased to receive this award,” said APPA President, Bob Vetere. “We received positive feedback on the calendar from people within the pet industry but this award is even further confirmation of this project’s success.”

With more 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY awards are the world’s largest advertising competition. The ADDY awards represent creative excellence by recognizing all types of advertising materials worldwide. The American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, conducts the ADDY awards through its’ 200 advertising clubs and 15 districts.
